Following the government announcement on the start of the second phase of the gradual restrictions lifting, Doha Festival City will implement the following measures:
(Updated as of 17th of June 2021)
We will continue regularly disinfecting the mall on a weekly basis. Doha Festival City is proud to receive a Germ Control Assurance Certification from Boecker, which indicates our commitment to keeping our facilities as a safe and protected shopping environment.
Robust cleaning and sanitization have been increased especially during mall trading hours. Our seating areas and lifts are constantly reviewed and sanitized every 30 to 45 minutes by our cleaning supervisors and teams.
To protect the safety of our staff, our housekeeping staff in the customer-facing areas are required to wear face masks.
Segmented Entry and Exit
We have segmented the entry and exit points on all gates and levels so we can screen the incoming visitors and ensure that we comply with our entry requirements. This also avoids crowding when visitors enter and exit through the same door.
• Personal Protective Equipment: All visitors are required to wear a mask throughout the duration of their visit
• Ehteraz Green Code: Visitors who can present Green Code in Ehteraz app will be allowed entry to the mall.
• Children under 12 years are now allowed to enter the mall.
• Body Temperature Screening: Visitors should have the body temperature not higher than 38 degrees Celsius to be allowed entry to the mall.
Less than 50% Capacity
We are fortunate to have an ample amount of space, with 11m hallways and corridors in the mall. In line with the government guidelines for the first phase of restrictions lifting, we will continue to accommodate less than 50% of the total capacity of the mall to allow our visitors to maintain the safe and recommended distance. Our mall is furnished with footfall counters and car park monitoring to support this effort.
Reduced Parking Spaces
We have reduced the number of parking spaces to only 50% to ensure that we do not exceed the restricted 50% capacity of the mall and placed wayfinding signages around the parking areas for easier access to our multi-level parking spaces on the ground and first floor, which remain available for our guests.
Our cafés and restaurants with ‘Qatar Clean’ certificates will continue to operate at a maximum 30% capacity indoors for vaccinated diners. Our food and beverage outlets will continue to operate takeaway and delivery orders as well.
We are pleased to announce that our food courts will now reopen at 30% capacity.
Health and Beauty Centres will open with 30% capacity to fully vaccinated customers.
Prayer rooms throughout the mall will reopen.
VOX Cinemas will reopen with a 30% capacity for customers above 12 y, o. at least 75% of customers must be vaccinated.
Doha Festival City Edge Fitness gym will reopen with 40% for fully vaccinated sports lovers.
Kids’ play areas and play centers remain closed until further notice.
We are opening SNOWDUNES, Virtuocity, and Angry Birds World, with a capacity of 20% out of which 25% max to be non-vaccinated. Kids under 12 are allowed.
We have installed 225 hand sanitizers throughout the mall, conveniently placed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces such as entry and exit points, customer service desks, wayfinders, offices, ATMs, inside of elevators and washrooms.
Our patrolling guards will continue to remind our mall visitors to adhere to the health and safety guidelines such as properly wearing their mask throughout the duration of their visit and maintaining physical distance from other guests.
Social Distancing Stickers
We have placed social distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommunication kiosks and branch, restaurants, and various retail shops.
To protect our guests, we have changed the designated smoking areas to a new space in the mall where it is deemed safer to temporarily remove the masks. We have placed new signages highlighting that all areas next to our doors are now non-smoking areas.
We have placed foot-operated garbage bins with clear signage so our guests can dispose their masks and gloves safely.
Stopped Signature Services
We have temporarily stopped the following services:
• Kiddie Carts
• Shop & Drop Service
• In-Mall Taxi
Informational Stickers and Standees
We have placed several informational stickers and standees around the mall to remind our visitors to adhere to the health and safety guidelines such as maintaining physical distance of 2m in elevators, using hand sanitizers, Ehteraz app information and age restriction on the entrances on the ground and first floor.
Customer Service Helpline
We have made enhancements on our customer service helpline to ensure that we are there when our customers need us. Our security and management are constantly in the mall to assist. All mall visitors may reach out to us by calling us at 40354444 for any concerns, assistance, or inquiries.
