تقع قطر في الشرق الأوسط في غرب آسيا على الساحل الشمالي الشرقي لشبه الجزيرة العربية. يبلغ عدد سكانها 2.7 مليون نسمة تقريبا. 2.3 مليون منهم مغتربون.
